Image Magazine is Ireland’s leading fashion publication, so I was more than delighted when I was asked to write a piece on Paris for the June issue.
As you may or may not know, I study French at university. However, this year I decided to take a break from my studies and spend some time abroad in the French capital. I had two goals in mind…the first, to improve my standard of the French language, and the second, to gain an insight into the fashion industry.
Nearly six months later, I feel as though I have a fair knowledge of “La Ville-Lumière” and it’s vast array of pretty little side streets. Although I don’t think it would ever be possible to discover them all!
I won’t ramble in this post, but rather let the article speak for itself…enjoy Xx Elle
When it comes to dressing for warmer climates, lighter wear is always key and so we love these drawstring Chloé pants with side stripe detailing. Tuck in accompanying scoop-neck Raey cami and if feeling a little adventurous, layer with Rosie Assoulin’s precision cut flower top – you know you want too!
As for footwear, ATP Atelier is a favourite and these tobacco leather slides with cut-out detailing have been on our wishlist for quite a while.
We loved Missoni’s SS16 collection, a celebration of all kinds of stripe in varying size, colour, direction and shape. A crochet-knit swimsuit? Yes please!
To finish of this contemporary-chic look, we chose Argento Vivo drop down hoop earrings in a gold finish plus a Rebecca Minkoff tote.

With Spring just around the corner, today we’re sharing the ultimate transeasonal outfit. We can only speak for ourselves, but we’re sure you will all agree, that it’s about time the sun came out to say hello! It has been a long few months of dreary Winter weather and we are just itching for the temperatures to rise so that we can bare a little flash of skin again.
Now, unless you have quite literally gone into hibernation these past few months (and let’s be honest, who could blame you!?) you will have noticed that the off-the-shoulder trend is huge this season. We adore this eye-catching top from the Australian brand Ellery, and who better to turn to than our sun worshiping Aussie friends to show us how to really work the trend?
Another vibe that you may have picked up on is that it’s time to ditch the skinnies (for the foreseeable future anyway) and make room for a more relaxed fitting jean. Is that a hallelujah we hear? We certainly hope so as these 3×1 cropped fringed jeans will stylishly ease you into Spring thanks to their comfortable high waist fit and delicate fringe detailing. Wear them with block heel Gucci pumps for a chic finish that will instantly put a pep in your step.
To round things off for today we’re reminding you about the importance of accessorising. It is the final touches that hold the power when it comes to adding that polished finish to your ensemble. The Cholé Faye is one of the ‘it’ bags for Spring and when matched with these classic tortoise sunglasses your outfit will ooze effortless style.
We hope that you enjoy today’s post and make sure to let us know what you think in the comments below. Until next time… Elle & Liv Xx
In an ideal world the year would be evenly divided according to each of the seasons. How amazing would it be if we were guaranteed a whole three months of summer sun!? Well, maybe some of you readers are fortunate enough to experience this dream world but here in Ireland that is a far cry from reality. Believe it or not but we are lucky to get even one month of real summer. On the reverse side however, it can’t be denied that Winter fashion is possibly the best. Wrapping up in cosy layers, cashmere scarfs and long length coats instantly elevates your outfit to next level chic.
Dressing for warmer days can sometimes pose a bit of a challenge as it is so easy to slip into the habit of throwing on a classic pair of high waist denim shorts and a crisp white tee. Dont’t get us wrong, when a pair of sun kissed legs and great sandals are added to the mix this look oozes effortless style. The problem is that it becomes more difficult to tap into your creative side when the temperatures start to rise.
All in all though after a long winter we are truly ready to see some blue skies and some colour around the streets wouldn’t go a miss either. We are very much over minimal cuts and colours and look forward to refreshing our wardrobe with some stand out vibrant pieces. So be inspired by these stylish ladies and begin to add some colour back into your life. If you prefer, take baby steps and add a colourful neck scarf or accessories to your outfit. The main thing is that you are heading in the right direction.
