In an ideal world the year would be evenly divided according to each of the seasons. How amazing would it be if we were guaranteed a whole three months of summer sun!? Well, maybe some of you readers are fortunate enough to experience this dream world but here in Ireland that is a far cry from reality. Believe it or not but we are lucky to get even one month of real summer. On the reverse side however, it can’t be denied that Winter fashion is possibly the best. Wrapping up in cosy layers, cashmere scarfs and long length coats instantly elevates your outfit to next level chic.
Dressing for warmer days can sometimes pose a bit of a challenge as it is so easy to slip into the habit of throwing on a classic pair of high waist denim shorts and a crisp white tee. Dont’t get us wrong, when a pair of sun kissed legs and great sandals are added to the mix this look oozes effortless style. The problem is that it becomes more difficult to tap into your creative side when the temperatures start to rise.
All in all though after a long winter we are truly ready to see some blue skies and some colour around the streets wouldn’t go a miss either. We are very much over minimal cuts and colours and look forward to refreshing our wardrobe with some stand out vibrant pieces. So be inspired by these stylish ladies and begin to add some colour back into your life. If you prefer, take baby steps and add a colourful neck scarf or accessories to your outfit. The main thing is that you are heading in the right direction.

I had a break from college this week so I finally got around to doing a clear out of my wardrobe. Three full black bags later and this long overdue task was completed. I can now see my clothes again which makes getting dressed in the morning so much easier! During the clear out I found these jeans hiding at the back of my wardrobe. I bought them in French Connection during a trip to London about two years ago and this was only their second outing. It’s funny how you just forget about certain pieces in your wardrobe when it becomes unorganised. It’s all about the detail with these jeans. That little bit of sparkle takes them from your ordinary pair of jeans and turns them into something a bit more special.
I know it’s not the most appealing task to face, but I strongly advise any of you with overflowing, cluttered wardrobes to sort through the mess… you never know what gem pieces you’ll come across again!
That’s all for today. I hope everyone is having a lovely relaxing Sunday… you know what they say “A Sunday well spent brings a week of content”.

Here is the outfit I wore on New Years Eve. This year I kept things quite simple and steered clear of the classic New Years Eve sequins. Although of course I did introduce a bit of sparkle to the outfit with my jewellery. I adore these earrings I recently bought in Topshop as they are quite different from my every day go-to pearl earrings, so the change was very welcomed. I am a big leather pants enthusiast as they are just so comfortable yet stylish at the same time. Whether it’s a casual or more dressed up event that you’re attending the leather pant is always a good option! I’m also really into high necked tops at the moment as they provide a bit of extra warmth during these cold days. It was the pattern on this top which initially caught my eye. I also love the transparent detail of this top as it added a ‘going out’ kind of feel to the finished look. That’s all for today. Talk soon Elle Xx

During the week I attended Trinity College fashion show and this is the outfit I donned for the event. I had planned on not wearing any tights but when the night came around it was far too cold to not wear them. I would have been crazy to leave the house without them! I wanted to add something a little different to the outfit so I put these little navy sparkly socks on over my tights. This addition was either going to be a master creation or a complete fail but in the end it turned out that I really liked the look. The outfit is actually a shift dress underneath the fluffy jumper. I love the pocket detail on the dress as it gives the look a kind of sixties feel. Needless to say once I was inside at the event this jumper kept me lovely and cosy all night long.
