Image Magazine is Ireland’s leading fashion publication, so I was more than delighted when I was asked to write a piece on Paris for the June issue.
As you may or may not know, I study French at university. However, this year I decided to take a break from my studies and spend some time abroad in the French capital. I had two goals in mind…the first, to improve my standard of the French language, and the second, to gain an insight into the fashion industry.
Nearly six months later, I feel as though I have a fair knowledge of “La Ville-Lumière” and it’s vast array of pretty little side streets. Although I don’t think it would ever be possible to discover them all!
I won’t ramble in this post, but rather let the article speak for itself…enjoy Xx Elle
In an ideal world the year would be evenly divided according to each of the seasons. How amazing would it be if we were guaranteed a whole three months of summer sun!? Well, maybe some of you readers are fortunate enough to experience this dream world but here in Ireland that is a far cry from reality. Believe it or not but we are lucky to get even one month of real summer. On the reverse side however, it can’t be denied that Winter fashion is possibly the best. Wrapping up in cosy layers, cashmere scarfs and long length coats instantly elevates your outfit to next level chic.
Dressing for warmer days can sometimes pose a bit of a challenge as it is so easy to slip into the habit of throwing on a classic pair of high waist denim shorts and a crisp white tee. Dont’t get us wrong, when a pair of sun kissed legs and great sandals are added to the mix this look oozes effortless style. The problem is that it becomes more difficult to tap into your creative side when the temperatures start to rise.
All in all though after a long winter we are truly ready to see some blue skies and some colour around the streets wouldn’t go a miss either. We are very much over minimal cuts and colours and look forward to refreshing our wardrobe with some stand out vibrant pieces. So be inspired by these stylish ladies and begin to add some colour back into your life. If you prefer, take baby steps and add a colourful neck scarf or accessories to your outfit. The main thing is that you are heading in the right direction.

Happy Monday everybody! I hope you all had a great weekend and are feeling energised for the week ahead. Luckily for us today is a bank holiday in Ireland so we get to enjoy a lazy Monday… Isn’t that the whole point of having an extra day off ?!
Elle and I shot this look about two weeks back and we couldn’t wait to share it with you all today. Is there anything more summery and chic than an off the shoulder top paired with white linen trousers? We don’t think so! I had my eye on this Asos top the minute it appeared on the website. I knew it would look great on and that I would be able to get lots of wear out of it. I really love investing in pieces that can be worn both casually or dressed up depending on how you accessorise the outfit. For this style shot I decided to go for a more dressy look because the wide leg trousers really work best when worn with a heel. Would you believe that this was the first time that these heels got an outing?? I bought them over a year ago and like many other things they ended up at the back of my wardrobe. I came across them when I decided that it was about time I do a bit of a clear out… just goes to show that this was a long overdue task!
Linen is such a great choice for summer time as it is so comfortable and light. Just make sure you iron your garment before wearing it because the material creases like crazy! I hope you all love today’s outfit as much as we do. We would love to hear what you think in the comments below! Talk soon Xx Liv
